A rare Karel Appel Lithograph made for the Bols Art Exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1981.

The exhibition that this was made for the occasion of Appel’s 60th birthiday, and travelled to Brazil, Spain and Portugal after the start in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This litho was made for the exhibits in Brazil, in the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP).

The print reads the following:
Bols Art apresenta Karel Appel
A essência da pintura holandesa contemporânea
MASP 17 de julho a 4 de setembro – São Paulo 1981

It remains in very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
