A stunning “Airport” chair by Arne Jacobsen, manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark, circa 1960.

The chair has a high quality chrome metal base and yellow/green fabric upholstery. The thin base and soft upholstery contrast nicely to each other and adding to the modern style of the piece. An iconic find, originally made for the SAS Royal Hotel, where it stood in the Air Terminal: thus the name of the chair! It would make a great and most comfortable addition to any modern interior.

It remains in very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Both his buildings and products, like his swan and egg chairs, combine modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
