An eye-catching stool, model “Mezzadro”, designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, manufactured by Zanotto in Italy around 1970.
The piece has a chrome plated, bent metal base with a wooden foot and yellow metal tractor seat. The “springy metal seat”was originally designed in 1957 (together with the Sella seat, in production since 1983) for an Italian exhibition about the use of space and colour in the modern interior. A unique design with a Pop Art sense to it, as well as that of the Italian Arte Povera movement. A lovely piece that will nicely compliment any decor, adding a unique touch to the interior!
It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
