A lovely school / side chair, designed by Ynske Kooistra and manufactured by Marko in the Netherlands around 1960.
This appealing piece is made of high quality black metal with warm brown wooden seat and back and matching black armrests. The compass base gives this piece a lovely mid-century appeal, the school chairs are a real icon of Dutch design! It would make a nice dining chair or a lovely decorative touch as a side chair! The slightly bent backrest and seat give it a nice seating comfort as well.
Marked “Marko” as shown in the photos.
The chair remains in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
