Crafted in the Netherlands during the 1960s, this teak wooden side chair is inspired by the iconic “Crate” furniture designs of Gerrit Rietveld. While not an original Rietveld design, it beautifully captures the same architectural simplicity, geometric lines, and honest construction that made the Crate series so influential.
Made from warm teak wood, the chair combines a minimalist aesthetic with sturdy craftsmanship, making it both functional and visually striking. Its clean proportions and timeless character allow it to fit effortlessly into both vintage and contemporary interiors. A wonderful example of Dutch modernist design in the style of Rietveld, this chair is an attractive and distinctive piece for design enthusiasts alike.
We currently have four of these chairs in stock. As each example has its own unique vintage condition and patina, we have chosen to list them individually so that every chair can be viewed and appreciated on its own merits.
