Designed in the 1980s by Dutch designer Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for Pastoe, the Amsterdammer cabinet is a fine example of minimalist Dutch furniture design. The cabinet features a black exterior combined with a deep dark blue sliding door, creating a refined and graphic contrast. Its clean geometric form and carefully balanced proportions give the piece a timeless, architectural appearance.
Van den Nieuwelaar was known for reducing furniture to its essential elements, resulting in objects that are both practical and visually elegant. The Amsterdammer fits effortlessly into contemporary as well as vintage interiors.
The cabinet has some small signs of use and minor damages, which are not particularly noticeable and do not detract from its overall appearance.
