A lovely shop display basket from the Netherlands, manufactured around 1950.
The use of wicker and a black lacquered tubular metal base is a highly recognizable style in Dutch modernism! It makes the piece fit in many different kinds of decors, adding both style and a sense of warmth thanks to the light brown colour of the wicker. It can serve many different purposes, adding a beautiful appeal to the interior!
It remains in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
