This 1970s Tulip side chair, designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International, is a beautiful example of the iconic mid-century modern design that transformed traditional seating. The elegant white-coated aluminium pedestal base supports a sculptural plastic shell, complemented by a comfortable fabric cushion. Saarinen’s revolutionary single-base concept gives the chair a clean, organic silhouette while allowing plenty of legroom around the table.

This particular chair has various signs of wear and damage to both the shell and the base, as shown in the photographs. The damage has been photographed as clearly and accurately as possible, allowing the condition to be fully appreciated before purchase. Despite these imperfections, the chair retains its unmistakable character and timeless appeal.
