Designed by Frank Ligtelijn for Raak Amsterdam in 1968, the Maxi Globe is a striking example of Dutch Space Age design. Its ingenious concept is wonderfully simple: a light bulb enclosed within a much larger glass bulb, creating a playful yet elegant interpretation of the traditional light source.
The transparent smoked glass shade is combined with a refined gold-plated metal fitting, giving the lamp a warm and sophisticated appearance. Ligtelijn’s design perfectly reflects the futuristic spirit of the 1960s, while its clean, sculptural form remains remarkably timeless. The Maxi Globe can make a beautiful statement on its own or look spectacular grouped with other sizes, adding a distinctive vintage atmosphere to any interior.
